Mend, Repair & Create Workshop

Remaykit is excited to be part of the 8th Circular Economy Week #CEweek2025. To mark the occasion we are holding a special "mend, repair, create" workshop on Saturday 25th October from 2-5pm in Balham SW12.
Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned sewer, this event is for you. You’ll be guided by a group of talented creatives from our recent fashion show, remaykit.org each bringing their own skills and passion for breathing new life into clothes.
What to Expect:
At this workshop, you’ll get the chance to try out a variety of creative techniques at different tables. You’ll be encouraged to explore, experiment, and get hands-on with mending, decorating, or even transforming garments.
What to Bring:
To get the most out of the session, please bring along a garment or project you’d like help with — something in need of repair, refresh, or reinvention.
Meet the Creatives:
Tipperlyhill
Known for their vibrant artwork on shop windows and canvas, Tipperlyhill now brings their signature style to fashion. Try your hand at painting directly onto clothing! Bring along a denim jacket, jeans, or any khaki-style item like a skirt, trousers, or shirt.
Restart
Learn the basics of sewing and mending with guidance on using a sewing machine. Got a piece that needs fixing? This is your moment to get it sorted.
PreLoved Studio
From sewing on buttons to hemming, they’ll help you master essential hand-stitching skills. More advanced? Get tips on how to transform a garment entirely. Bring your creative project and prepare to be inspired.
Jill Rutter
Explore the beauty of upcycling with indigo dye techniques, and discover the meditative craft of sashiko — traditional Japanese visible mending. A beautiful way to restore and personalise your clothes.
